”Murren: a village where the magic of the alps meets a sense of timeless beauty”
Proposed plan:
The day is all yours to enjoy some of Europe’s most dramatic scenery. You may consider a mountain excursion that combines a narrow-gauge railway, a gondola lift, and a spectacular alpine walk above the tree line, surrounded by a panorama of cut-glass peaks…or ride a gondola lift up to the Schilthorn at 10,000 feet, loiter in the thin air, and hike down…or wander through the valley and walk to the thundering Trümmelbach Falls, a unique set of waterfalls encased behind the valley walls.
Light to strenuous walking (your choice). No bus. Sleep in the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Actual Events:
Today has been a slow day and a time to recharge! That is a good thing since both Nick and I are feeling a bit under the weather today. Enjoyed a late breakfast (well, late for us). Then went back to our room and took a nap. We decided to venture out and try to locate a pharmacy and get some cold meds. Since Murren does not have a pharmacy we opted to take the tram down Lauterbrunnen. We figured out how to buy bus tickets from the tram station into town. We poked our heads into a few of the shops along the way. But, much to our chagrin, we found out Lauterbrunnen does not have a pharmacy either. So we decided to have some soup and head back to our room.
Not too many pictures today. But I must say this is the best place to lay in bed! Looking out the window from our bed I can count four wonderful waterfalls. I am sure there would be more if I got up and looked out the window. Where else in the world can you do this?
